Self Love Chat: Take time to rejuvenate

Today is Monday. I finished my last night shift yesterday (Sunday) morning. I had just worked 23 out of the 26 previous nights from 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM. Driving home from work at 5:30 AM, I couldn’t wait to see what all of the fun stuff I would get up to by being awake with the sun! Needless to say, when I finally got home and sat down on my couch in the darkness of the fall/winter morning, I was overcome with heavy eyelids and the need for a warm blanket and soft pillow. I pulled myself off the couch and half slept, half grogged my way through a portion of my bedtime routine and crawled into bed around 8:30 AM, exhausted, still chilled from spending most of my night outside in 25 deg F weather, and eagerly welcoming a good rest.

My First Salt Lake City Visitors!

My mom and her fiancΓ©, Jeff, came to visit me for the July 4 weekend while my hubs was away for a guys weekend. I thought I’d share a little of what we got up to and some feedback I received on different aspects of the trip – coming from people that normally exist at sea level. Keep reading if you’re looking for an easy-going itinerary for out-of-town visitors including easy hikes, yummy eats, and some summer season must-do’s for great views.

Summer 2017 Capsule Wardrobe (& Style Update)

Wow, it’s been a long time. I’m glad to be back writing, though, and I have a bunch of ideas coming your way! I sat down the other night and made myself a nice spreadsheet with blog post ideas, post due dates, etc. Hopefully that will keep me on track (heh). I want to expand the blog a bit as well, so stay tuned! After this post I will start posting weekly content on health and beauty, skincare, travel, food, information about the environment and whatever else comes my way. I hope you enjoy!

The Curated Closet | Recap & Status Quo Questionnaire

Wow, this post is going out a lot later than I originally planned. Better late than never, right? I have done a lot of experimenting since starting this series. It has definitely helped me to be more creative with my wardrobe and my day to day outfits. I am having fun exploring more outfit choices with the clothes that I have. More on that later, though!

The Curated Closet Series | Day 14! | Spring Florals

Wow! Day 14. Towards the end there I didn’t think this day would come. I’m excited for the end of this series because I found out it is indeed quite a bit of work to rush home, take pictures, and write a blog post everyday (or so). However, I think this series has helped me to get more into the blogging habit and has given me a lot of good practice with photography, editing, and writing. I have a few more post ideas for the future. I think my new sustainable schedule will be new posts once or twice every week.

Now, let’s talk spring colors!

The Curated Closet Series | Days 7&8 | Winter Layers for Warm Climates

Woahhhhh, we’re half way there!

I’m excited that I’ve actually made it this far and that I plan on finishing this 14-day journey. It’s been a journey not only for me and my style habits, but also a steep learning/adapting curve to blogging every day. I’m not the best with actually sticking with something like this, but I think that because I’ve been sharing it on my Instagram and on the Internet in general, it’s forced me to keep going. It’s been a great experience so far. I even have some fun post topics lined up for later!

The Curated Closet Series | Day 6 | Casually Cool

This is my ultimate fall/winter weekend outfit formula. Every piece is soft and allows me to move, while the layers add some fun color and depth. We saw a movie and I was completely comfortable the entire time. That is except for the part where I had to leave mid-movie to go to the restroom because I had gulped down an entire Nalgene of water 30 minutes prior to leaving for the theater. Pro tip: don’t drink an entire liter of water in less than 5 minutes if you are going to have to be sitting still for an extended period of time. In my defense, I was concerned I wasn’t drinking enough water throughout the day, so I thought I would make up for it.
