Day 8 Header Image: Winter Layers for Warm Climates

The Curated Closet Series | Days 7&8 | Winter Layers for Warm Climates

Woahhhhh, we’re half way there!

I’m excited that I’ve actually made it this far and that I plan on finishing this 14-day journey. It’s been a journey not only for me and my style habits, but also a steep learning/adapting curve to blogging every day. I’m not the best with actually sticking with something like this, but I think that because I’ve been sharing it on my Instagram and on the Internet in general, it’s forced me to keep going. It’s been a great experience so far. I even have some fun post topics lined up for later!

The Curated Closet Series | Day 6 | Casually Cool

This is my ultimate fall/winter weekend outfit formula. Every piece is soft and allows me to move, while the layers add some fun color and depth. We saw a movie and I was completely comfortable the entire time. That is except for the part where I had to leave mid-movie to go to the restroom because I had gulped down an entire Nalgene of water 30 minutes prior to leaving for the theater. Pro tip: don’t drink an entire liter of water in less than 5 minutes if you are going to have to be sitting still for an extended period of time. In my defense, I was concerned I wasn’t drinking enough water throughout the day, so I thought I would make up for it.

The Curated Closet Series | Day 5 | Painting & Sushi

Today was all about being an adult. I went to the dentist, we painted part of the upstairs of our house, some guy from a roof company came over to look at our roof, and we went on date night. Needless to say, most of those things required an outfit change. So, today I have not one, not two, but three(!) combos to show you. It’s like better than BOGO day at the grocery store, right?

The Curated Closet Series | Days 3&4 | Lounging in Patterns

This is my typical outfit that I throw on when I get home from work. My job often requires me to wear a fire-retardant uniform, and when I get home from work all I want to do is put on some comfy clothes that make me feel great. My after-work lounge outfits usually consist of a sports bra, t-shirt, a selection from my fave sweatshirt stash, and either these running shorts or one of my few pairs of leggings. I can curl up on the couch or just be comfortable while washing the dishes and tidying up.

The Curated Closet Series | Day 2 | Comfy Cozy Classy

Day 2: Comfy Cozy Classy

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

I love this blazer. It’s knit and soft and stretchy. It keeps me warm without making me feel bundled up. I feel like I’m dressing up and down at the same time.Β I love wearing this blazer to big meetings and more corporate-type events. I even wore it to one of my bridal showers, actually. Looking back, that was probably not the best style choice, but I felt great and that’s all that matters, right?

The Curated Closet Series | Day 1 | Solid Colors & Subtle Patterns

Over the next 14 days, I will document my outfits and how I feel about them. It is one of the first exercises of the Curated Closet book by Anuschka Rees. The exercise is supposed to help you go through your CURRENT clothes and determine which of the pieces you really enjoy and which ones you could probably replace with a better fit or style or which ones you could remove from your closet completely.
